PointSource_allfiberbeamcombiner.jpgAn all-fiber beam combiner for red and blue solid-state lasers has been developed by Point Source Ltd. Designed for single-mode fiber beam delivery, it is based on fused-fiber technology for ease of integration and long-term stability. The single-mode fiber acts as a spatial filter for higher-order laser modes and produces a TEM00 Gaussian profile for the combined and collinear output beams. Because of its all-fiber nature, the system eliminates the need for bulk optics and optomechanics, rendering it immune to misalignment from shock, vibration and temperature effects. It is suitable for use in biomedical applications such as flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy.
