Laser Research Optics has released industrial laser lenses that have been refurbished to meet OEM and military standards. The ZnSe lenses are offered in planoconvex 1.5- and 2.0-in. diameters and with 5-, 7.5- and 10-in. focal lengths. Both surfaces have been polished and recoated to MIL-PRF-13830 quality specifications, and the chemical and mechanical polishing technique removes <0.5 mm of material. The company says that the lenses, priced according to size and quantity, are typically 40% of the cost of new lenses, and it provides credit for lenses returned for reconditioning.
