A range of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs), called the Specdilas V-series, is available from Laser Components GmbH. The lasers emit perpendicular to their PN junction, and feature narrow emission linewidths and tunability. Suitable for spectroscopy applications, the VCSELs are single-mode, focusable and stable, and their efficient mirrors and small gain medium keep the threshold currents within a few milliamps. Wavelengths are selectable from 750 to 960 nm with single-mode power from 0.3 to 0.5 mW.
