The model FCS-8812 supplies over 50 crisp acetylene absorption lines near the 1550-nm telecommunications window and provides multiple reference points with ±0.005-nm accuracy. Rather than move an optical spectrum analyzer to a lab for calibration, the user can take the device to the analyzer and obtain results more reliable than with traditional methods, according to the company.
