Matrox-Imaging.gifThe Matrox Solios GigE is a Gigabit Ethernet network interface card designed for the use of GigE Vision devices such as industrial cameras in demanding imaging applications. Available from Matrox Imaging, the x4 PCI Express short card has four ports and a full range of auxiliary onboard I/Os. Resource intensive package filtering is performed on the card, freeing more of the CPU for other tasks. The device, which offers a 64-MB acquisition buffer, filters packets from up to eight GigE Vision streams and captures from frame and line-scan cameras. Its optional, configurable processing core based on a field programmable gate array can offload or accelerate image processing operations from the CPU.
