A CMOS camera for machine vision applications has been developed by Audio Video Supply Inc. The AVSPL-B782U color USB 2.0 features a rolling shutter and external trigger that allows full synchronization. In video mode, the camera can deliver up to 27 fps at 1 × 1-k resolution; up to 70 fps at VGA resolution (640 × 480); and up to 4230 fps at 24 × 24. The camera has an 8- or 10-bit output and is also available in a FireWire version, in a monochrome option and with imagers at lower resolution.
