MAINZ, Germany, Feb. 23, 2007 -- Dilas has introduced a high-brightness 1470-nm, single-wavelength, fiber-coupled module that produces up to 80 W continuous wave (CW) power from a very compact package.

A high-brightness, compact packaging design results in power levels of 12 40 and dilasfcmod.jpg80 W, based on a single bar or multibar fiber-coupled diode laser modules, making them suitable for aviation, medical and material processing applications.

Efficient fiber coupling as small as 400 µm with a numerical aperture of 0.22 fiber is available. Its sealed housing, which is provided with a standard SMA 905 fiber connector, protects the diode laser bar and its micro-optics from contamination and mechanical damage. The module is also equipped with a second user-exchangeable window for use in rugged environments. The modules include an integrated pilot beam, power meter and temperature sensors. Optional fiber detection sensors are available. The fiber coupled module is also available in wavelength of 808, 810, 915, 940 and 980 nm.
