MAINZ, Germany, Feb. 23, 2007 -- Dilas has introduced a line focus 400 W diode laser system, (LFx40) that supports a wide variety of applications in the field of material processing, such as simultaneous or mask welding of plastics, as well as annealing and recrystallization of surface processes.

The system features a power supply with an integrated microcontroller and chiller and delivers 400-W output power at wavelengths from 800 to 980 nm, with a line-focus beam profile length of approximately 100 mm.

Dilas said the LFx40 enables lower operating costs at higher efficiency and increased process reliability with a smaller footprint, compared to conventional processes.
