Deposition-Sciences.jpgThe HeatBuster spectral metal thin-film coating manufactured by Deposition Sciences Inc. (DSI) is a dichroic hybrid designed to be highly reflective over selected wavelength bands and minimally reflective over the rest of the spectrum. The base material is highly polished stainless steel. A dark mirror coating deposited onto the substrate optically couples the unwanted wavelengths into the metal. Then a dichroic coating is deposited onto the dark mirror. Proprietary MicroDyn sputtering technology is stable over temperature and humidity changes and meets Mil-C-675 standards for abrasion, adhesion, humidity and salt fog tests. The spectral metal coatings operate over a wide range of angles and can be fabricated into many forms.
