The VC series of industrial smart cameras from Vision Components now has a megapixel model that features 1280 x 1024 pixels, enabling the detection and classification of smaller defects, more accurate measurements, and more reliable character and code reading. The cameras measure 120 x 50 x 35 mm and weigh 250 g. They are complete machine vision systems with up to 8 MB of RAM, 2 MB of Flash EPROM and a digital signal processor. The cameras have shuttering speeds from 1/100,000 to 20 s, optically isolated industrial I/O, a serial interface, RS-170/CCIR video output and pixel-identical sensor readout.
