Omron Electronics Inc. has introduced the F30, a miniature machine vision system suitable for basic inspection applications including presence/absence, orientation, parts sorting and foreign-matter detection during manufacturing. The 3 x 3 x 6-in. assembly is installed using a five-button keypad, with little wiring required. The system features an adjustable shutter speed of 1/60 to 1/4000 s, processing rates up to 50 ms per part, a fixed focal length, a removable ringlight and lens, and a standard C-mount camera lens.
