Deep-UV-enhanced broadband mirrors have been released by Edmund Optics Inc. for steering light sources at wavelengths through the UV, visible and IR. Made from an aluminum-based coating on a laser-quality substrate, they provide >85% reflectance from 170 nm to 11 μm. The mirrors can steer beams from excimer lasers and from broadband mercury, deuterium and xenon lamps. They offer low polarization sensitivity at a 0° angle of incidence. The substrate provides wavefront distortion of λ/10 at 633 nm, a low coefficient of thermal expansion, and a laser-grade surface quality and scattering profile.
