AOFR.jpgAOFR Pty Ltd., a subsidiary of Verrillon Inc., has introduced a family of clean fusion laser power combiners for use in fiber laser systems. Available in 3 × 1, 4 × 1, 7 × 1 and custom configurations, they have undergone Telcordia GR1209/1221 testing and extended high power testing at levels exceeding 10 W per input. They employ the company’s automated clean fusion process, which uses an inert gas resistance furnace rather than a flame — a technology that is suitable for component manufacturing where fiber contamination must be eliminated. Measuring 5 × 5 × 50 mm, the metal packaging maximizes heat dissipation. With an operating wavelength range of 900 to 1000 nm, the devices have applications in the industrial, medical and military sectors.
