Universal Laser Systems Inc. announces the modular Professional Laser Series 4.60 computer-controlled CO2 laser cutting, marking and engraving systems, which replace the M, V and X laser systems. The four models offer patented features such as rapid reconfiguration of company-manufactured lasers, quick-change laser cartridges, and cross-platform compatibility of lasers among systems. They feature a materials-based print driver that allows a choice of automatic or manual control over power, speed or other system settings. The systems are available with the optional HPDFO, which enable direct marking on uncoated metals without the need for metal marking compounds. Their work areas measure 24 × 18 in., and their laser power options range from 10 to 60 W.
