BitFlow Inc. has unveiled Raven, a universal analog camera interface family that connects analog cameras of all types to PCs. The various Raven family members handle not only standard-scan RS-170/CCIR monochrome, NTSC/PAL, S-video and high-quality RGB color cameras, but also nonstandard types such as line-scan, progressive-scan and high-performance dual-tap cameras. It can accept input from up to four attached cameras simultaneously; regardless of the number of cameras or their configuration, the Raven places pixels directly into host memory and/or display in raster-scan order. To minimize time on the PCI bus, Raven has 132-MB/s continuous burst capability.
