SAN JOSE, Calif., June 27, 2007 -- Pavilion Integration Corp. (PIC), a manufacturer of high-performance laser sources, has added modulated versions to its WhisperIT product line.
WhisperIT modulated versions are available in wavelengths from the ultraviolet (370 nm) through the visible and into the near-infrared (1064 nm). They are suitable for instrumentation, metrology, inspection and reprographics
applications, in particular for holography or imaging applications that require well-defined square wave modulation with extremely stable power output.
The devices are housed in the same compact package as previous versions, with robust, customizable modulation electronics. The company said the modules meet customers' stringest noise, beam quality, output power and longevity requirements and that they warm up quickly, dissipate very little heat and are cost-effective.

Actual data from WhisperIT modulated laser systems. At right (top) is a 785-nm diode at 1 MHz; bottom: 405-nm laser at 20 kHz, both with >20,000:1 extinction ratios.
