Exfo.jpgThe IQS-3150 variable optical attenuator for optical network testing and active component manufacturing applications has been launched by Exfo Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. The device offers an attenuation range of 65 dB and spectral uniformity (±0.03 dB over the C-band). When equipped with the optional power meter, it can be set to reach a calibrated output power level instead of a known level of attenuation. It can be used in an automated testing environment to simulate the loss of optical power or increased link attenuation. Suitable for use in round-the-clock long-term operations, it combines control of the signal level and programming capabilities in a one-slot single- or multimode module within the IQS-500 intelligent test system.
