The VDM35 series laser displacement distance measurement sensors released by Pepperl+Fuchs are available in 6-m diffused and in 30-m retroreflective modes and have scalable 4- to 20-mA analog outputs and dual discrete PNP switch points. Features include push-button programming, an eye-safe Class 1 infrared laser for sensing, a built-in Class 2 visible red laser for alignment and a five-pin M12 × 1 microconnector. The sensors monitor and measure the distance between products to maintain equal spacing and positioning, and they can be used to measure roll diameter in printing and converting applications. Other uses include automotive manufacturing, liquid and bin level control, profiling and error proofing.
