Optics has unveiled WhisperWheel RS technology, an option suitable for home theater, rear-projection television and digital light processing projection systems, and other applications that sustain 14,400 rpm with outside diameters of 40 to 66 mm. It features reduced sound levels compared with the standard WhisperWheel and >15% increase of optical clear aperture. Offering advanced air-bearing motor technology, it incorporates noncontact-bearing structures that provide extended life expectancy. Like the standard model, the RS conforms to various customer applications, and it features patented sputtering technology for high filter performance as well as quality control systems that monitor balance and sound pressure level.
