Standa.jpgStanda Ltd. has introduced the 5VDOM-1, an ultrastable kinematic mirror mount that minimizes mount-induced wavefront distortion. Unlike a conventional mount, in which the mirror is tightened by a side screw, this uses secure three-point mirror suspension between the front flat spring and the back plate so that uniformly distributed axial forces eliminate wavefront distortion. Specifications include a 1-in.-diameter optic, a tip/tilt range of ±3° and 2-arc-sec sensitivity. The mount weighs 0.18 kg and is suitable for use in laser cavities, optical subassemblies and applications where space is limited.
