The flying spot reflectivity sensor detects surface defects, including scratches and blowholes, in inaccessible areas, such as on the inner walls of cylinders. Available from Grintech GmbH, the device offers a working distance of 25 mm, 12.5 mm or other distances, as required, and resolution — spot size ≤50 μm full width half maximum. The depth of focus is 5 to 8 mm, and the probe diameter is 2.0 mm, with 0.7 and 1.2 mm available upon request. The sensor has an NIR light source.
