Phrontier Technologies LLC has released a single-fiber version of its fiber optic adapters. The Phire-S series comes in a slim metal housing and plugs directly into any Camera Link camera or frame grabber without the need of a Camera Link cable. It uses one optical fiber that enables digital image data to be transmitted over distances of up to 10 km. It is designed for remote camera placement, harsh environments and machine vision applications.
