PI.jpgPI (Physik Instrumente) LP has revealed the E-755 ultrahigh-resolution motion controller for driving its Nexline linear motor actuators. The device combines sophisticated control algorithms, 32-bit digital filters and output drivers with low-noise 24-bit digital-to-analog converters. Polynomial linearization provides 0.001% linearity over the full travel range in closed-loop operation. The controller also operates in open-loop mode and is supplied with an extensive software package, including LabView drivers for flexible automation of nanopositioning tasks. It achieves picometer resolution in the short-range/dithering mode.
