EdgeWave GmbH has announced the HD401-E and HD601-E high-power Innoslab lasers with average power of 400 and 600 W, respectively. Beam profiles include circular, line-shaped 1-D top hat and 2-D top hat with a square cross section. The circular beam is suitable for drilling solar wafers and for high-speed glass processing; the line-shaped top hat is for large-area ablation of thin layers; and the square top-hat devices enable structuring and ablation of conduction or dielectric layers for producing thin-film and crystalline solar cells. They have high beam quality (M2 <4), a pulse repetition rate of up to 150 kHz, a pulse length of 12 ns at 100 kHz, and pulse energy of up to 60 mJ.
