National Instruments’ LabView 8.5 graphical system design platform combines high-level design tools with low-level multicore support. Designed for test, control and embedded systems development, the software has extended programming capabilities to include multicore real-time processors. It features parallel graphical code, real-time symmetric multiprocessing and a real-time load balancing scheduler; users also may manually assign portions of code to specific processor cores. The Statechart Module is included for higher-level designs to run on targets including field-programmable gate arrays, real-time systems, personal digital assistants, touch panels and a variety of microprocessors. Applications include design validation systems and complex control systems.
