Powerlase Ltd. has released two high-power nanosecond Q-switched diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers. The Starlase AO12 is designed for use by plasma display panel manufacturers. It operates at 1064 nm and produces 1200-W output to enhance the speed of rapid laser patterning. The Starlase AO16 produces 1600 W at 1064 nm, providing further flexibility for flat panel display customers. Both lasers are based on the power-oscillator/power-amplifier architecture used in the predecessor AO6 and AO8 models.
