NORTH SUTTON, N.H., Sept. 17, 2007 -- Labsphere said its new software, LightMtrX, is the industry’s first commercially viable light test application software and will be the highlight of its LEDs 2007 exhibit Oct. 24-26 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina.

For research and development, quality control and production of LEDs and LED products, Labsphere said its LightMtrX light metrology software platform offers an unmatched level of usability and flexibility. Windows XP and Vista compliant, the software includes intuitive calibration and user-friendly interfaces.

LabsphereLightMtrX.jpgEngineering staff and production floor operators can navigate the software quickly and easily, Labshere said. The software module, MtrX-SPEC, calibrates and analyzes spectral radiometric, photometric and colorimetric properties of light sources ranging from simple lamps and LEDs to solid-state lighting assembles and traditional indoor and outdoor lighting systems.

For spatial measurement, the MtrX-LSA software module provides control of the rotational stages and spatial radiation measurement routines. The software controls Labsphere’s series of CDS spectrometers, its LSA 3000 LED Spectral Analyzer and auxiliary source meters and temperature controllers as dictated by specific application needs, the company said.

Controlled by the MtrX-LSA software, the LSA 3000 performs accurate measurements of narrow-angled to broad distributing LEDs at a high angular resolution of 0.1°. The software allows the user to measure and plot relative intensity versus user-selectable polar angles. The report "save" options include formats compatible with Tracepro and Optimax for far-field spatial modeling.

Labsphere said its exhibit (Booth 67) at LEDS 2007 in San Diego will include LightMtrX software, light measurement systems, sensor calibration equipment and advanced Spectralon materials and coatings. The company's application engineers will also be available to demonstrate products and software and discuss custom solutions.
