The Schneider Group has launched the MacroVaron MRV 4.5/85 CAS 0.5×-2.0× for inspection systems. An f/4.5 lens, it features continuous aberration suppression technology, which enables uniform performance and ultrahigh resolution down to 2.5 μm over a magnification range from 0.5× to 2.0×. Suitable for high-resolution line-scan applications up to 12 k, such as those used in flat panel display and in printed circuit board inspection systems, the lens has a 62-mm image circle, low distortion and good chromatic correction. Nearly constant relative illumination over the entire image height enables the use of the sensor’s full size. Required working distance and the space needed for the camera lens assembly are reduced with the 85-mm focal length. The lens’s diffraction-limiting capabilities improve performance, while the iris-locking mechanism provides accurate measurements in high-vibration manufacturing environments.
