Rohm Electronics Co. Ltd. has introduced the PicoLED-RGB three-color chip LED. Two packages are available. The four-pin and six-pin thin top-view models measure 1.0 × 1.0 × 0.2 mm and 1.5 × 1.0 × 0.2 mm, respectively, while the thin side-view package measures 2.77 × 0.95 × 0.5 mm. The compact design minimizes energy consumption. The LEDs are suitable for applications requiring full-color capability and a small form factor, including color indicator displays in mobile phones, illumination lighting in compact devices and full-color dot matrix displays.
