COOLLED_LAM-box-14-3Mb.jpgCoolLED’s precisExcite is a modular LED light source in which the user can select the wavelength of excitation and can control the intensity and the period of excitation precisely. The technology uses high-power thermally controlled LEDs with active cooling to ensure that they are kept stable and intense throughout their working life. As new wavelengths are required, other LED array modules can be added and interchanged within the unit. The company now has added modules at 445 nm for cyan fluorescent protein and at 505 nm for yellow fluorescent protein excitation, making the system more flexible for use by cell biologists and fluorescence microscopists. Previous existing wavelengths are 400, 465, 525, 595 and 635 nm.
