The SL-1720-S manufactured by SmarAct GmbH is a closed-loop piezo stepper drive nanopositioning stage that measures 21 × 17 × 8.5 mm. It has an integrated optical encoder and offers 12 mm of travel, encoder resolution of 5 nm and subnanometer resolution of movement. It can be incorporated with other linear and rotary stages to provide complete micro- and nanomanipulation systems. Its open architecture enables simple manual or automated control, and its stiffness makes it suitable for nanomanipulation in applications where space is limited. The operator can use the company’s hand control module or the Windows DLL or LabView driver.
