Elite-Thermal-Eng_P1010591-.jpgElite Thermal Engineering has introduced the BA-01 adapter module for mounting standard 14-pin butterfly laser packages on a cold plate or heat sink. It provides zero insertion force (ZIF) connection, onboard diode reverse bias protection and surge protection. To facilitate the electrical connection, the 40 × 50-mm module has a plastic clamp that presses the butterfly contacts to spring-loaded ZIF connectors. All contacts are routed to a 20-pin connector that interfaces with the user harness for connecting to diode and thermoelectric drivers. The current-carrying capacity of the trace and contacts for the laser diode and thermoelectric cooler is rated at 6 A. All mounting hardware is included.
