SchneiderGroup.jpgSchneider Optics Inc. has introduced object-sided telecentric lenses for noncontact metrology applications. Weighing between 21.8 and 28.5 oz, they are suitable for applications in which an electronic image processing machine must move and position the lens quickly and precisely to optically measure 3-D components. Their numerical aperture of 0.1 provides good image quality, even in low-light conditions. Available in magnifications of 0.27×, 0.39×, 0.62× and 0.79×, the lenses are designed to work with 2/3-in.-format CCD cameras and feature a fully adjustable iris control and an integrated front thread to accommodate M72 × 0.75 filters. The company says that the lenses produce ultralow geometric distortions and that they maintain a constant magnification within the specified depth of field.
