Spectronics Corp. has introduced its Spectroline UV quartz pencil lamps with a rated life of 5000 h. The standard models, the 11SC-1 and 11SC-2, are low-pressure, mercury-vapor discharge lamps made of double-bore material with both electrodes at one end. The 11SC-1 has a 21/8-in. lighted length and delivers steady-state 254-nm intensity of 4500 µW/cm2 at 1 in. The 11SC-2 has a 3/4-in. lighted length and produces steady-state 254-nm intensity of 2000 µW/cm2. They run off the separate SCT-1A power supply.
