Coherent.jpgAvailable from Coherent Inc., the Paladin Advanced 355-8000 diode-pumped solid-state laser delivers 8 W of quasi-CW output at 355 nm. Suitable for laser direct imaging, flat panel display substrate scribing and semiconductor inspection, it provides the performance characteristics of the predecessor model, but there are fewer pump diodes because of the improved resonator efficiency. The laser features mode quality of M2 <1.2, low noise (<1% rms from 10 Hz to 2 MHz) and an 80-MHz repetition rate. PermAlign optics mounting protects the device from shock and vibration and ensures long-term stability. The power supply allows hands-free operation and facilitates integration. Proprietary aluminum-free active area (AAA) pump diodes are used.
