For use in ultrahigh-resolution optical coherence tomography, multichannel fiber Bragg grating interrogation and passive component testing, Exalos AG has introduced the EBS8505 ultrabroadband light source. The compact turnkey system features a large optical bandwidth, a short coherence length, high optical output power, a touch screen, a USB2 interface and stabilized output power. Bandwidth is 100 nm FWHM, center wavelength is 850 nm, spectral ripple is 0.2 dB, and power output is 5 mW in single-mode fiber.
