With a new module that delivers up to 50 W of continuous-wave (CW) power at 808 and 976 nm, Dilas Diodenlaser GmbH said it is raising the bar for high-quality, high-power, single-bar-based fiber-coupled diode laser modules.

The module is the latest addition to Dilas' fiber-coupled diode laser line, delivering its power through a 400-µm SMA fiber with a numerical aperture of  less than 0.22, making it the most reliable and highest-performing diode laser available today, the company said. The fiber-coupled diode laser module is primarily intended for end-pumping of solid-state laser materials for fiber lasers, as well as for medical applications.

DilasFiber-CoupledLaserBar.jpgMeasuring less than 100 x 31 x 20 mm (L x W x H), this industry-standard package features a wall-plug efficiency greater than 35 percent and features a typical spectral width of less than 4 nm, FWHM (full width half maximum). The laser power from the module is delivered via a detachable single-core fiber, which is terminated with a standard SMA 905 connector, Dilas said.

The high-power fiber-coupled diode laser modules are based on a single laser diode array and are available in an overall height of less than 30 mm including optional features such as integrated pilot beam, power monitor, fiber detection sensor, user-exchangeable protection window, and temperature sensor, according to Dilas.
