Micronor Inc. said its new ENA361M (hollow shaft) and ESA361M (solid shaft) series high-resolution analog output encoders provide 12-bit resolution with a choice of analog output, making them ideal for high reliability and high precision industrial automation and process control applications.

The units are extremely rugged with high levels of shock ( greater than 500 g) and vibration ( greater than 30 g) resistance, Micronor said. The products can be used in outdoor applications over wide temperature ranges and fluctuations (-40/+85 °C) and protected against humidity and condensation. Standard units are IP67 sealed with an IP69K option available for use in high temperature/high pressure wash down applications.

These single-turn absolute encoders are offered with an output choice of 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 10 V and measuring range options of 45°, 90°, 180° or 360°. These units also operate over a wide input power range of 18-30 VDC. The 4- to 20-mA option includes a red LED fault indicator for sensor break detection and monitoring of power supply.

With an overall diameter of 36 mm the encoders are very compact and ideal for tight spaces, according to the company. The ENA361 series offers blind hollow shaft in range of 6 to 10 mm along with either stator coupling or torque stop mounting options. The ESA361 series offers solid shaft in range of 6 to 8 mm along with standard synchro flange mounting.

Unit price is $285 to $415 (depending on options) in OEM quantities of 100 pieces with typical delivery in three to four weeks.
