Leica.jpgLeica Microsystems Inc. has introduced the TCS LSI, a macrozoom confocal microscope for in vivo imaging of model organisms. The device has a 16:1 optical zoom that offers high magnification and resolution for spectral confocal imaging as well as the user option to change to a macro view of the specimen without changing hardware. The fully apochromatic system allows 4-D time-lapse studies, and the specimen’s viability is maintained with full environmental control of the imaging stage. The instrument has a resolution range from 128 × 128 to 2048 × 2048 pixels, zoom increments of 0.1×, a line speed of 800 Hz and a maximum rate of 6 fps at 128 × 128 pixels.
