The AZ100M Multizoom multipurpose zoom microscope from Nikon Instruments Inc. offers motorized controls. When combined with the company’s Digital Sight control units, the device can be controlled remotely by a hand or foot switch. The Digital Sight cameras incorporate a photo release switch for remote image capture control. The model can be used with the optional extended depth-of-focus function of the NIS Elements software to generate all-in-focus 3-D images. It incorporates the AZ-NPI Intelligent triple nosepiece, which communicates objective magnification information to a computer or to a specific controller. Part of the AZ100 series, it features an 8:1 zoom ratio and a magnification range of 5× to 500×.
