Porvair.jpgPorvair Sciences Ltd. has released the MicroStream microplate thawing station, a device that circulates ambient air across the base of a frozen microplate or tube rack to thaw samples evenly without the risk of damage. A fan inside the device continuously and gently circulates air through the 96 holes in the microplate and around whatever is being thawed. Power comes from a 12-V transformer, and the unit, which weighs 250 g, is quiet during operation and has a footprint that takes up minimal counter space.
