STAMFORD, Conn., April 3, 2008 -- Omega Engineering said its new FOH201 model is a compact and portable fiber-optic handheld meter that provides absolute, accurate measurements with patent-pending white-light-polarization interferometry technology.

OmegaMeter.jpgDesigned to be paired with its interferometric fiber-optic sensors, the FOH201 is ideal for temperature, pressure, and strain measurements, Omega said. The large LCD display is easily visible up close or at a distance and the rugged casing and rubber boot provides protection against intensive handling and harsh environments.

The meter comes with a standard ±5-V analog output and RS232 communication port for real-time data acquisition and is compatible with all Omega WLPI optic sensors, providing a multipurpose tool for measuring various parameters.

Recommended applications for the CE-compliant meter include temperature measurement in electrically noisy environments, including microwave manufacturing and testing. Pricing for the FOH201 starts at $2650, Omega said.
