BRECKSVILLE, Ohio, April 29, 2008 –- Global Lighting Technologies Inc., has introduced what it said is the thinnest LED-based, high-brightness backlights on the market today. Global Lighting Technologies said its light extraction technology and improved manufacturing processes are producing light guide packages that are ideal for the increasing demand for smaller, slimmer sized products (such as mobile phones and laptops) without sacrificing performance.

The result is Global Lighting Technologies’ MicroLens light guide BLUs that offer the thinnest electro-luminescent backlighting, and have all the advantages of today’s advanced LEDs. The MicroLens also provides substantial power savings because fewer LEDs are needed, due to the MicroLens’ ultrabright performance.

Global Lighting Technologies will display the new ultra-slim BLU at the 2008 SID (Society for Information Display) trade show in Los Angeles in May.
