Newport Corp. has introduced the ST-UT2 series upgradable SmartTable optical tables. The doubled tables incorporate tuned mass dampers to reduce vibration and can be field-upgraded as needed with the company’s IQ Damping Technology to achieve the performance of the ST tables, which have factory-installed IQ dampers. The IQ technology actively monitors, reports and adjusts table damping performance to provide a quieter table surface, resulting in faster settling times, minimized relative motion of the tabletop and long-term stability. It also enables measurements that previously required additional equipment. The tables are available in L-shaped or end-to-end configurations.
