AlliedVision.jpgThe Pike F-505, a 5-megapixel progressive-scan camera released by Allied Vision Technologies GmbH, has a fast FireWire 1394b interface that enables operation at 15 fps at full resolution. True partial scan enables higher frame rates at smaller areas of interest. Equipped with a 2/3-in.-format Sony sensor, the camera is available in black-and-white and in color versions. The standard model has two copper connectors so that several cameras can be linked in a daisy chain. The antismear function and 8× binning produce crisp, clear pictures in high- or low-light conditions. Image preprocessing features include autocontrolled gain, exposure and white balance; color correction, hue and saturation; real-time shading correction; and a look-up table.
