The TPS spectra 3000 terahertz spectrometer developed by TeraView Ltd. performs noninvasive and nondestructive transmission and attenuated total reflection measurements. It provides rapid and accurate chemical and structural identification of materials that are invisible to conventional techniques. The terahertz radiation interrogates the fundamental vibrations between molecules to provide intermolecular information. The system includes a Ti:sapphire ultrashort-pulsed laser as well as a laser-gated photoconductive semiconductor emitter and receiver for operating at ambient temperature. Measurements can be performed on solid samples as small as 1 mg.
