Coherent.jpgCoherent Inc. has introduced Compass 561-50, a frequency-doubled diode-pumped solid-state yellow laser. The 100 × 40 × 32.5-mm device delivers 50 mW at 561 nm, with a noise specification of 0.25% rms from 10 Hz to 1 GHz. It offers long-term power stability of <±2%, beam divergence of <1.2 mrad and a warm-up time of <10 min. Suitable for applications including flow cytometry and confocal imaging, the device can be used to excite fluorophores such as the rhodamine series and Alexa Fluor dyes.
