Point Source Ltd. has unveiled the iFlex-Mustang, a fiber-coupled solid-state laser with onboard modulation for use in confocal microscopes, in flow cytometers and in DNA sequencers. Using single-mode and polarization-preserving fiber, the device delivers 25 mW with a polarization extinction ratio of greater than 100:1 at an operating wavelength of 488 or 561 nm. The instrument’s power can be modulated up to 2 MHz, with a rise and fall time of 150 ns and a 30-dB dynamic range.
