Sony Electronics Inc. introduces the Exwave Had sensor for outdoor applications. It offers 1/50 the smear and more than twice the sensitivity of the company's previous Had cameras. The 1/2-in. sensor uses 380,000 effective pixels for horizontal resolution of more than 470 TV lines, a minimum illumination of 0.8 lx at f/1.2, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 50 dB. It is designed to integrate into the company's SSC-DC50A and SSC-DC54A color cameras.
