SICK.jpgThe HLG family of light grid sensors has been announced by Sick Inc. for parts counting and leading-edge detection on a conveyor. They are through-beam-style light grids that provide fast and reliable switching output any time that one of the beams is blocked. They are self-sufficient and do not require an external controller box. All processing is done internally in the light grid for fast response time, easy installation, and quick and simple commissioning. Minimum detectable object size is 2 mm. The rugged aluminum housing can withstand harsh industrial environments. Cable synchronization facilitates setup and fast product detection. Teach-in automatic sensitivity adjustment enables detection of translucent objects and wrappings.
